MERL Studio enters private beta

MERL Studio, X900 Ltd’s monitoring, evaluation, research and learning platform, has entered private beta and is onboarding early pilot partners from across the NGO and MERL-consultancy community.

The platform addresses a structural inefficiency in M&E practice. An indicator carefully designed at the design stage, with its disaggregation, validation rules and calculation logic, is currently rebuilt by hand at every stage that follows: the logframe, the data collection forms, the quality checks, the analysis. Each rebuild is a chance for the definition to drift, and much of the effort M&E teams spend cleaning data late in the cycle traces back to inconsistencies introduced early.

MERL Studio removes those manual rebuilds. A single indicator registry acts as the canonical source, and each definition propagates automatically into the logframe, the data collection instruments, the quality-monitoring engine and the analysis surface. The pilot release covers indicator definition, logframe and theory-of-change design, data collection design, offline field data collection, automated data-quality monitoring and an indicator performance dashboard. It is built for specialist NGOs, independent M&E consultants, and locally-led evaluation organisations.

Design once, execute everywhere: a MERL environment where the definitions set at the design stage carry through to execution intact, so practitioners spend their time on evaluation and learning rather than on reconciling one tool against another.
